3 Ways to Invest in Yourself for Free

All the talk is about investing in business and making money but, all the money in the world is not going to be worth a single cent if you don’t take care of yourself, can’t take it with you! as they say, one of the big problems today as I have said on many occasions is that we are always rushing from one thing to another, hoping that our internal batteries will stay charged just long enough till we can make the next deal or lose the next 5lbs or we can work hard enough to just get this next certification, but what happens if it doesn’t ? well you fail not because you could not achieve the goal that you set for yourself but simply because you ran out of steam, and that is a bitter pill to swallow, believe me.

Imagine running a race, you have kept good pace and you have beaten off your rivals, the air is clear and you are feeling good, turning a corner you see the finish line but as you do your leg starts to cramp, it passes up through your body and you start to slow under the pain, but you still see the finish line and it is getting closer, so you push harder the pain gets worse and you drop to your knees, the line stops moving and you see your rivals come past and break that tape, of all the feelings that are running through your head at that time one will be that you will not let this happen again you will go away and train harder, sleep more and learn how to make your body go faster and longer, spurred on by the biting pain of regret you vow this how it will be.

As dark as that analogy was I would be prepared to bet that most of the people in that situation would then go on to smash the next race, but life unfortunately (until proven wrong) is not like that we have one shot at it and once we hit the floor near the finish line there is no more tomorrow, an no more races to make a comeback, so follow these three investments in yourself and take action now so that the last thing you think as you cross the line is “I Won!”

Sleep

Maybe not 8hrs a night as some people literally feel worse after sleeping so long, but find the right amount of sleep for you and stick to it where you can, the odd late night / early morning here and there are fine and you shouldn’t sweat it but consistent burning the candle at both ends, NO, a rested body and mind is a prepared body and mind, and when you are prepared you become more confidence, confidence + preparedness = success, there is nothing that you are not ready for and when it is thrown you can deal with it as you are switched on and “Present in the Moment”

Nutrition

You are what you eat, not strictly true but we all know what it is like to have a massive Carb filled meal and then try to go back to work in the afternoon or get a little more done at night when you just want to sleep, invest some time in yourself by learning about your body, what body type are you? are you sensitive to Caffeine ? is that latest fab diet the reason why you don’t sleep at night and your cognitive function is on the floor, investment in yourself is either free or the price of a couple of good books on the subject, learn to optimise your body and everybody will thank you for it, you will be happier more confident and have more energy.

Exercise

You don’t have to go to the gym and spend a fortune on Protein Shakes and supplements to get fit, There are plenty of good videos on Yoga, bodyweight exercises you can do at home, or make up your own, again the investment is reading blogs such as this one, or the world of information that is at you fingertips in the form of the Internet (I am sure you have heard of it), if you haven’t got time then wake up 30 mins earlier or carry workout clothes with you in the car, that 45 minute break that you would normally fill reading something like this or getting lost in YouTube spiral, making mountains of money for people that produce gaming videos and the like invest in yourself, go for a walk or some sprints, you will feel better for it.

Conclusion

Don’t expect huge differences overnight changing habits and body adaptation takes time but it is worth it, and the evidence is all around us, from the hugely overweight that start a diet and a week in to it still look the same to the skinny kid who gets laughed at at the gym until one day he steps on the Olympia stage, all the way to the guy that spends little money and studies investments without the credit fuelled frivolities of his peers, seems broke until he buys a huge house outright and starts travelling the world without having to ask for the time off from work, but you have to start, not tomorrow, NOW right NOW, literally changes like the above you can start right this second by deciding to go for a walk, or not have junk food at lunch, maybe get a book and sit down and work out why every diet you try does not give results. the best investment you can make is in yourself and it’s the only one that will add years to your life!

This is What Your Overactive Brain Needs to Get a Good Night’s Sleep

https://getpocket.com/explore/item/this-is-what-your-overactive-brain-needs-to-get-a-good-night-s-sleep?utm_source=pocket-newtab

During all the activities we undertake to increase physical well being, financial gain or simply to educate ourselves further the one thing we need on our side is cognitive function, sleep is by a long way the most important aspect of this.

Now one thing that does annoy me and I assume annoys or at best confuses others is the sheer dichotomy of advice that is given, we have people shouting that the only way to get ahead is to stay up and work 20hrs a day and people shouting that you need 7 to 8hrs sleep a night, well the maths just doesn’t work, the good thing about this article is that it goes into ways you can improve the quality of your sleep, this really is the only way we can satisfy the best happy medium of the two messages, so enjoy and I hope that it helps at least a little bit.

You dont always have to increase your output if you can make it so much more effective, and improving your ability to solve problems and be creative will definitely improve your chances of success.

Till next time……

End of the Affiliate Journey – For now at least

Possibly not the update that anybody was expecting, but life has a funny way of telling you things, small signs here and there that the direction you are taking is not the best path, I have spent some considerable time now with the Affiliate Marketing and the initial idea, which was to use paid for Facebook ads to promote a product and use Clickbank to get paid for doing so.

Things to consider when starting

  1. This is not going to be for free, Websites, YouTube videos and Guru’s sometimes try to push this message and it is fundamentally wrong, this business requires just one ingredient Traffic and this traffic needs to have some value, as in it needs to be directed, simply throwing 1000 unqualified leads at a landing page is highly unlikely to get any result, and traffic costs my friend, either in your time to build up a following on social media or in cash to by advertisements.
  2. The second thing is really an extension of the first point and was ultimately my undoing at this time, you will still need Time and quite a measurable amount too, think about it, you have to create landing pages, creatives and static ads (these can be done for free) and then place them and monitor the spending, as a side note you will notice that the majority of the success stories start with the phrase “I lost my Job” or “when I was eighteen” or some such other narrative that when you scratch beneath the surface implies that they started with a lot of time on their hands.
  3. Nearly all of the videos on YouTube are only half of the story, and in fact I would say it’s not even half more like one quarter, I promise that the curse of the blank page is nothing compared to staring at a video ad looping over and over and not knowing how to make it feel right and professional, and hiring somebody to do it is more money.

One of the conclusions I came to was this, the vast majority of the affiliate programs are centred around selling more affiliate training programs, I actually have a moral issue with this as it adds no value to peoples lives, These are nothing more than pyramid schemes in my opinion and ultimately although they can make money for some they do not for the vast majority of people involved.

I am not saying that affiliate programs are not viable in any way, I have links on this website to books that if anybody bought through me I would receive money, it would not make me rich but it would be earned simply as a by-product of something I enjoy doing, and as the reach of the website increases the scope for more people to see the links and click them also increases, this provides potential return on one time effort, and this is probably as close to Passive Income as it is possible to get.

Summary

In summary I feel it only right to say that the path to affiliate marketing that I started to take is best described as cynical, it would have worked with a larger budget and a smaller moral stance, quick money can be made this is true, but quick money is Small money, along the way I have spent time listening to giants of business and investing and a lot of their words have rung true with me, I understand the need for a side hustle if you have a day job as this is the only way to start on the road to financial freedom as all too often we start looking for money when we have grown out of our current income, and I also understand and would happily advise anybody that has the time and the freedom to dedicate every waking moment to affiliate marketing should do so, success stories are not always a tissue of lies to extract your hard earned money, a good amount of the time they are true and a reflection of what that person managed to achieve with their particular circumstances, just remember that their circumstances are NOT yours and you need to evaluate carefully what you can sacrifice in order to reach your goal, I am going to move toward the side hustle and will happily share any successes I have with you all on here, as well as getting on with the other side of the traineesuperhuman, the fitness and life motivation.

Till next time, run as fast as you can but make sure you have the right road!

Wednesday – Half way there or half way back?

So we are half way through the week and how have you done? have you sat on everything that you said you were going to do and it is still there waiting to be picked up?

Humans suffer with what I call drift, in my industry we have an issue with logging, devices log events and issues and the logs have a timestamp on them, this then allows us to go to the log collector and search for events around a certain time to see if we can work out what device may or may not have failed, problem is that you can have 10 switches or 6 routers all made by the same manufacturer and all identical with the same chips as their stablemates, and unless you synchronise the clocks with a central source, in this example an NTP server, the times will drift, and when this happens it makes it much harder to work out when an event actually happened and if there is anything significant in the logs.

In human terms this is best summed up by saying that, when we have an idea or we formulate a plan, we need to see the end result to get truly excited about it, in fact when you attend seminars and watch motivational videos this is literally what we are told to do, I am sure I have said this before and I will bang on about it in the future, think back to the last lottery ticket you bought, I would be prepared to bet that you had the money spent before you even got home, but then you have to wait and waiting is boring right? damn straight it is, and what happens when we get bored, we become disinterested we start to look for things to entertain us, and we move on, in 2012 “The Telegraph” a newspaper in the UK reported that more than £1.4 Billion of lottery prize money had gone unclaimed in the 18 years since the competition began, because in the short time between buying the ticket and the draw, the owners of the tickets had misplaced them of forgot to check and the ticket had been thrown out or put through the washer, the world has taught us to demand instant gratification and anything less it would seem is to boring to contemplate.

So we start with our idea, our plan and we run at it, we start watching YouTube videos about what we are going to do or if it is sorting out our lives we start making phone calls and talking to the people we need to solve our problems, then guess what ? Nothing happens, maybe a few quick wins, a debt cleared here or an account opened at Amazon associates, but other than that it all stops as the next part of any dream starts, the hard work for absolutely no return, and it stings, and it hurts and you get all upset and start whining to the Mrs or Mr, ultimately you stop, because it’s been a week and you are still not a millionaire, or you are still drowning in debt.

Sounds like I have an idea what I am on about? that’s because I do, even this blog I am writing now had this particular logic applied to it, I was really excited about starting and got it setup, tried a few different things and earned 18 cents so far ! where is my Corvette, my Mustang and that really cool house in the hills ? still very much in the showroom and the estate agents window that’s where.

I left it behind for a bit and got out of the habit of writing, then got out of the habit of thinking about writing and ultimately instead of sitting down and building the blog, I just had a Chicken breast or can of Tuna and sat in front of the TV doing absolutely sod all about my future, and I have only been doing this for around 4 months! then I watched a video and it triggered me (mostly by anger and jealously) and I wrote again, this time with a little more vigour and with a little bit more of my personality coming through.

If I had started my Blog and WordPress had sent me a Corvette and the keys to the house as part of the welcome package instead of a blank page and a credit card bill I would have been all over it because my dreams and my goals were realised, at that point I am not trying to change my life, my life has changed, and the time to build has been bypassed, I am no longer bored I am fulfilled.

You have to halt the drift, regardless of what you do to make this happen for you it is going to take time, and you are going to have many many frustrations along the way, but if you are completely honest with yourself about what your goals are when you get there it will be like heaven and it will be better than you ever imagined, and I don’t mean you have to shoot for billionaire status, or owning skyscrapers, if your dream is financial independence and freedom, you will know when you get there and you finally hand your notice in at work, if your dream is simply to get in shape and be able to run around with your kids at the park, the effort and the sweating and nearly passing out in the gym will not even be a memory when you see the smile and hear the laughter from your children as you play in the park.

Own your Dream, fix it in your mind and if need be tell me your dream and I will send you reminders every week or month or day if you need it just to keep it fixed there, because if you are focused and if you truly believe you will make it and you do not forget why you are doing what you are doing you will make it, if you forget to chase your dreams they will fade and you will stay exactly as you are now, keep enthusiasm and enjoy the journey.

Time to Build Tuesday

Tuesday today and I wonder how did your Monday go? did you get up and recite a mantra about how you can succeed or did you go for a swim around your private island followed by a nutritional breakfast?

I ask these questions because I was watching a video about morning rituals last night and it got me thinking, when we watch self-help videos or we search for ways to change our lives we are essentially looking for help, help to understand what we are doing wrong, why we are not millionaires, and how can we change this, and YouTube and Instagram come to the rescue, but only some of the content of these messages is worthwhile, not because the content producer is malicious but simply because they have risen to a point that they can no longer relate to the issues and problems when they started out.

One of the points that was made was with regard to Barack Obama’s morning routine, and how he always does a 45 minute workout, he will, reportedly not entertain anything until this is played out and this makes him a better president (this was at the time he was president of course) the point was that no matter how busy our lives are we are not as busy as the president of the united states, however I take issue with this because time is a constant regardless of who you are or how much money you have, to say that one person has less time than another due to their status is wrong we all have 24hrs in a day, so if you need to take care of two children or take the dog for a walk this takes your time, and does not allow you to lay down and enjoy a coffee enema.

This is only a quick post but I want you to think of this, when you look at these things understand that you do not need to follow the advice to the letter, and as I want to make money from advertising on my blog and my blog is about helping people, there is at least one person out there that is rooting for you, me!

So if yesterday you meant to start the week all positive and go out for a run before eating half a grapefruit and swallowing a handful of herbal medication, then setting off to work with a smile on your face, but when you got up the Kids weren’t feeling well, the dog had shat in the kitchen and you ended up running late eating toast as usual and driving to work wondering if you left the iron on, don’t throw away the rest of the week, today is Tuesday, if your Monday sucked ass, try again today, you can do that can’t you ?

6 Skills Essential for Communication and progression.

Unless you want to live under a rock in a forgotten place as the only human inhabitant at some point or another you are going to have to communicate with others, the need to communicate is as old as civilisation itself and many many books have been written on the topic, I personally am quite a shy person, I have had a lot of hang ups about my ability at work my physical appearance and my ability to communicate with others in both personal and professional capacities.

The written word seems far easier to control and deliver and is powerful, hugely powerful in fact wars have been started and stopped through the written word and societies changed by adherence to the written rule of law, but behind this and in every case there is people, people to think and then vocalise the thoughts and ideals that we then document to disseminate among the population, through history there have been many documented cases of one person mobilising entire countries through their personality and ability to communicate.

This is not some kind of black magic, and you do not need to rely on hypnotising people to bend them to your will, you simply need to know how to communicate effectively and be likeable, when was the last time you went out of your way for somebody you did not like? we are more likely to put ourselves out or assist complete strangers than somebody who we have actively taken a dislike to.

And the same works in reverse, you are unlikely to be helped up the corporate ladder by somebody that has not “taken to you” and garnering assistance from somebody you do not gel with is almost impossible.

But talking to people is daunting, it can be almost debilitating especially for the first time as the rules of engagement haven’t been set yet, you do not know what type of person you are dealing with, what they think, feel, desire or what they will find funny or insulting, as a demonstration of this I have one friend who considers swearing to be the height of rudeness, as I am sure some of you will, and one that we regularly insult each other with some eye-watering expletives as a matter of course, it is simply the way we communicate, and I have a good relationship with both and have worked very successfully along side them with no trouble at all, simply because I took the time to understand what type of person they were and adjust how I converse with them accordingly, so I have compiled a list of some of the more core rules of communication because it is difficult to make it through life without it and almost impossible to succeed financially or socially without giving consideration to how you communicate with others.

  1. Smile, A very simple first step is to smile, a smile puts people at ease especially in first meetings because it at least shows you are happy to be in their company or pleased to meet them at least, when I say smile I do not mean a great big wide grin that looks as though you are about to burst into laughter, the best thing to do is to actively think of something pleasant, a situation or a person that naturally makes you happy, as smiling is largely an involuntary response the reaction will be natural and not look forced very important as you do not want their first thought to be that you are false!
  2. Eye Contact, Often explained away to easily this one and it is really difficult to get right if you are trying to force it, the tendency is to stare at someone intently after being told to maintain eye contact, but this is just intimidating at worst and if you are dealing with a tower of confidence in the other person they will most likely just find it annoying and it could easily turn into a staring contest, again not a good first impression, the best rule of thumb is to concentrate on what the person is saying and get eye contact for around 50 to 60 percent of the conversation, this is engaging but not confrontational.
  3. Consider the situation, Often overlooked is to consider what kind of meeting this is, and adjust accordingly, for instance in a job interview the interviewer is in a position of power (if you really want the job that is) and you are looking to impress but not dominate, so you would maintain eye-contact at crucial times, when giving answers to questions for instance (looking away when answering tends to suggest that you are searching for the answer) but not overdo it during the more general moments of the interview, if however you are in a position of power and you need to assert authority you would lower your tone and fix the person in your gaze for more of the conversation, this is an instructional position.
  4. Do not shout, Unless you need to shout because of environmental considerations try not to, shouting is largely the loss of control and unless delivered at exactly the right time tends to erode any authority as you are no longer calm and level headed, a lower quieter tone delivered exactly and firmly making sure not to trail off at the end of words is far more authoritative and will get your message across without annoying the other person, when we get annoyed we stop listening, it is a fact, I am sure that you do the same.
  5. Dress for success Well actually just dress for the situation you are going to be in, if you are wanting to be taken seriously in the business world, and you are in a traditional type office setting then turning up in trainers jeans and a T-shirt is really only any good for the monthly office picnic, whereas if you are in a more modern setting a three piece suit is probably not going to help you integrate with the environment, to put it in extreme terms don’t expect to be taken seriously at the annual dentists networking convention dressed as Ronald McDonald!
  6. Try and find Common Ground, Humans are by and large pack animals, we feel most comfortable among people with the same interests and aspirations, by looking for traits in people that you can relate to you can ease most situations and create an environment that is mostly devoid of the deadly silence that exists between people that have no idea what to say to each other, the weather only lasts so long as a conversation but a shared interest in a sport or reading or pogo’ing can last a lifetime of water cooler talk and will most likely create a friendship even if it is at a very low colleague level.

Being socially awkward is not a bad trait and it is not something that you have to change regardless of your need to or not, it is however going to hold you back if you want to make a progression in the business or family life or any social interaction, the world is becoming an increasingly social place, it is a sort of pseudo social to be fair, as it is conducted behind screens and keyboards but millions are made based solely upon personalities of normal people, such is the power of likeability, even if the personality is largely successful through controversy they will still have a following based on a connection through common ground and the people that do not like them will follow them to feed into a common ground that will grow their social circle.

Relationships are reciprocal and when you become friends with people or establish a worth you will find that they will help you as much as they can, and when all it takes is a little consideration to your first meeting and how you appear to people in everyday interactions, it is a small price to pay , believe me whatever you are trying to achieve in life, communication while it may not always be the first key, will always make it easier.

I guess one of the biggest things I am trying to get across is, working situations to your advantage and exerting your will to further your position is not a sinister terrible thing, it is a tool that is used the world over and there is no reason why you shouldn’t utilise everything in your power to succeed, after all that is why we are all here isn’t it?

Motivation for Monday

Hey, following on from this weekends posts about Mondays and how we feel about them, just remember to be present in the moment and not to dwell on the past, you cannot change any mistakes you made or undo any bad decisions, but you can work harder on better decisions and take the opportunity of a new week to get closer to your goals.

Driving through your thoughts

One of my fascinations as I have said before is the power of the mind, I (and many others) firmly believe that we are capable of an almost infinite amount more than we know if we just learnt to harness the power of the mind.

But what if we didn’t need to learn how to harness the power of the mind but rather learn how to set it free?

Everyday I hear people commenting on how difficult something is, or how talented somebody is and how they could never achieve anything like that, and at the risk of sounding cliche they wont with that attitude, your brain has no concept of the world other than what we feed it either back through the nervous system or through conscious thought, I experienced this early on in life but never really understood what it meant.

I started training when I was 14 by training I mean bodybuilding and I was fortunate enough to have started with a guy that had been training for a very long time, one of the first things he said to me was not to think about the weight on the bar, because the moment you think it is to heavy it will be and you wont move it, and he was right on days when my mind was engaged and I was feeling mentally strong my physical strength grew and grew, and on days when I lost concentration and let the psychology get the better of me I was weaker.

The interesting thing is that I didn’t give myself any pep talks or any active encouragement I simply allowed my mind to react to a situation the weight and to take action by controlling muscles, by not telling myself how difficult it was I just let my mind get on with taking care of what I wanted to do.

The struggle is to stop holding our minds back, to stop self doubt, or false idolisation of people we admire in our chosen sport or area of education, even slimming and family life, we need to learn to give credit where credit is due and learn from these people, all too often we put them so high on a pedestal they become a God like figure that cannot be challenged or imitated with any great success.

An easy way to start is to add words to the end of sentences such as “I cannot do that” becomes “I cannot do that yet” in this example it is easy to see what difference the dialogue makes, if you cannot do it period then why bother trying? But if you cannot do it yet then you have already agreed not only that you can but also that you are ready to or have started toward the goal.

Writers often panic about a blank page, and when I started this I did too but I decided to just start typing, it sounds silly but a page with writing on it is not as scary as blank one because it is started, and with the block removed my mind takes over and what I actually want to write comes out even if that means a whole load of typing and deleting first.

I would encourage anybody and everybody to work toward freeing your mind from the walls we put in front of it, remove negative dialogue and allow yourself to drive progress through your conscious thought rather than in spite of it.

Own your demons and make them work for you!

Amazing Downtime

I had an amazing time last night with the Mrs for her birthday, we went to York to a Thai Tapas restaurant http://phranakhon.co.uk/ to be exact and had arguably some of the best food I have ever had (certainly Thai at the very least) and the went on to see The Rocky Horror Show at the York Opera House, the performance was amazing and I even managed a bit of a time warp!

I was able to enjoy myself with an amazing woman in an awesome place with outstanding food and an unutterably good show.

And this morning? Did I go for a 5k walk and did I feel guilty about eating food that isn’t exactly “on plan” ? HELL NO! We got in late and I had an early start at work, so literally did not have the time, we put all the work in so we can cut loose, we eat a sensible diet tailored to our needs so when we go out we can indulge and we stay in shape so that we can enjoy ourselves until the early hours when the opportunity arises.

The only lesson, only lesson here is to work harder, work so hard you turn weekends into weeks, fun and enjoyment into simply “life”, I was feeling a bit deflated before going out but now ready to take on the world.

There is an adage about a struggling salesman buying a bigger car to help him sell, sometimes we need to just get out and enjoy ourselves to remember what we are working for.

Practice the Preaching ep13

Good morning! and it is a good morning sun is shining and birds are singing etc, etc, I realised that I spend so much time talking about pushing boundaries and how the body only responds to stress beyond it’s normal capability that I felt I needed to speak a little about the importance of rest and I don’t mean just sleep (although sleep is awesome).

I mean more specifically resting your body and mind, sounds a bit spiritually fanciful I know but hear me out, Evolution is a long process and we are just starting to catch up with the technology revolution, this can be seen in the generational gaps that we observe and are often the subject of good-hearted jokes and routines of stand-up comedians, each generation becomes more comfortable with technology such as phones, home media, home automation and so on, but it does not stop there, you see the world has become virtual almost overnight, it really was not that long ago, maybe 20 years or so when we didn’t have 24/7/365 news feeds, social media updates, whatsapp and high resolution games featuring cute cartoon cats bursting bubbles all at our finger tips.

And all the time our bodies are still running on the circadian rhythm of wake / rest, so we start to feel tired and sluggish as we push through yet another phase of our cycle in order to watch the 20th video on how to become a billionaire by the time you are five, or how to lift like a strongman after only two days training, or indeed typing out a blog about all the above!

As this diagram courtesy of Wikipedia demonstrates perfectly there is an order to things and I can see several points on it that I merrily sail through, now the reason behind this post is I emphatically advocate pushing boundaries and we cannot accomplish the things we do by sticking to a set of rules that limit us to a time scale our bodies developed before Instagram and Clickbank, but there are some things the body and mind need us to listen too, these are the instincts that tell us when we have pushed too far, take the gym for instance, you go there to hurt, your muscles burn you are sweating like you are in the desert, breathing like an asthmatic camel and running periodically to the door to be sick, this is good, this what we came here for, but when you start to feel faint or dizzy that is when to stop because you have gone too far, and too far is destructive we are now longer pushing boundaries smashing them and ripping up the foundation as we go.

And why is this on “Practice the Preaching” ? well because I want everybody to succeed and we get bombarded by people everyday telling us that if we are not in the gym 6 hrs a day we are not trying hard enough, if we are not up all night coding and sleeping through the day we clearly do not want our website to be a success, and we deserve to fail, problem is that message contradicts the following advice that success takes time to accomplish and it is persistence that pays off, you cannot persist at something if you take yourself out of the game by injuring yourself physically or mentally.

So listen to your body and mind, the clues will all be there and regardless of schedules and training routines take a dive when you need to, as long as you are honest with yourself it will not be very often, so you will not lose ground the only thing that will hurt is your pride, but don’t worry that will get better when you reach your goal quicker than you would if you had to take a week or a month break due to over stretching it.

Things to watch for

  • Over tired and irritable and an inability to sleep soundly
  • Dizziness when exercising or a feeling of pressure in the chest
  • Inability to keep your focus on a screen or blurry vision
  • Any pain that is outside of muscles, you don’t grow tendons!
  • Short tempered or lack of patience
  • Sudden lift in heart rate when resting or the feeling of panic
  • Constant headaches that feel like you a have a tight hat on your head

In general when we are under constructive stress, sure we will feel tired and a bit stressed because we are striving, but once it goes beyond that it becomes toxic we are literally sowing the seeds of our own failure, so just stop sit back, go for a walk, read a book or something the polar opposite of what you were doing.
