100% Free Training to make money, NO BS!

In my previous post I spoke about the importance that I place on Google as a way to advertise your business or your service.

However, it should be noted that when you start looking at adsense, AdWords, Analytics, it can all get very very confusing very very quickly, in fact actually just looking at the dashboards alone can leave you wondering what to click and where to look.

The purpose of this post is not to provide any kind of training but simply to point you in the direction of free training, 100-percent free training is provided through Google, to help you navigate all of the applications and services that are going to help you ultimately build your business.

The training is from skillshop and is, as I say through Google, believe me if you are ever going to take part in any free training this is the place to do it,  very few people actually have a vested interest in your business succeeding over theirs and this is no different, where this differs from the hundreds of YouTube videos, Instagram posts, so-called gurus that want to charge you $2,000 for a one-hour course,  is that it’s in Google’s vested interests that you succeed, the more you succeed the greater their value as a company.

I have spoken at length about my disdain for the marketing gurus of this world, and I do realise that some of my readership are marketing gurus or are on my market is and that’s fine, within this industry, and by this industry I mean the advertising industry more specifically the online advertising industry, there are really only two or three groups of people there are the people that have made it, the people that are trying to make it, it and the people that don’t stand a chance.

People that have made it

I’m always a little suspicious of the people that have made it, they always come across as just a little bit trying to rub your nose in their extreme wealth.

That isn’t to say they’re bad people, it’s simply to say that I’m unsure of the value of seeing someone who has the money and the time that money brings, extolling the virtues of what you need to do to make money.

A lot of the advice often seems to centre around meditation, yoga, relaxation and a whole host of other things that take a long time to do, fact is there is only 24 hours in every single day so when these millionaire  gurus are suggesting that you spend every waking hour working on your future, the one thing they are missing is the fact that the majority of people sat watching their videos don’t have the time, the most time that the average person is going to be able to spend pursuing a second source of income, is probably nearer 4 or 5 hours a day,  this is because the vast majority of people that have decided that they are going to need a second source of income and are therefore searching on YouTube for these people’s videos are probably around about middle-aged, probably have children or other dependents and probably have a job, you can’t quit your job, this literally something I wouldn’t suggest although it does seem to be the basis for the amount of time that these groups suggest you can spend pursuing your business ideas.

The People trying to make it

The people that are trying to make it however, are an interesting Bunch because these actually fall into two subgroups there are the people that are genuinely trying to make it and the passing on information as they go, and there are the people that know they’re not going to make it however, they are still looking for that YouTube Fame that ultimately they believe will provide fortunes, we all know about Ryan’s toy review and we all know that it potentially brings in millions each month, that isn’t going to be you and me, it is a harsh lesson to learn, but it’s something that you need to pick up on now and get over,  so whilst again not all these should be viewed with suspicion the fact is you need to have a good look at the videos, if you have videos that have a constant background that’s usually got a Lamborghini or a Ferrari or something else in it it never seems to move the chances are it’s a blue screen and it’s been fake, one of the things the internet has provided to a lot of people is the ability to manipulate their audience into believing of variety of things, what used to be the exclusive right of TV and video and film was the ability to have blue screens have sound over the top, it was a world of make believe, these systems and software abilities have now fallen through to normal people and by normal people I mean that are not in those Industries, I’m not saying their advice isn’t worthwhile what I’m saying is be careful of somebody who is trying to tell you how to make money when they haven’t managed to do it  themselves.

The people that are never going to make you usually the ones that shout the loudest, usually the ones that are pulling down other YouTubers, other entrepreneurs or shouting about how their scheme works better than everybody else’s, they can make you $1,000 an hour by sitting around and doing nothing, here is the best piece of advice anybody can ever give you, there is no thousand dollars an hour by sitting around doing nothing, you have had to at least put into major work previously to the sitting around, in order for that to happen,  the biggest annoyance and the one that I believe you should take into consideration with these people, is that the one thing they are doing is they are wasting your time by making you watch the video to the end just so that they can get there six or seven advert breaks in between and try and get you to watch it off an advert so they get paid.

The conclusion in this case, is actually fairly simple whilst I have waxed slightly lyrical about my disdain for certain people within the industry what I really want to do, is to pass on the stuff that I am learning as I go,  genuinely,  the company that I am trying to put together GFPharma,  is a genuine company, I have sourced genuine good quality products in order to promote and sell, this is not to provide a training course for people to learn how to market stuff it isn’t to provide some kind of YouTube presence that provides me money, so am I going to put adverts on YouTube videos if I do some? of course I am why wouldn’t I? and if you don’t put them on yours then well you missing a trick, my point is is there are certain people that like to keep these things a mystery and I’m not one of them, the internet is a huge huge Market Place there is enough room for pretty much everybody, as industry shifts times change people gravitate towards different Industries, different ways of making money, different employment, the internet is the one thing that will move faster than society,  all you have to do is keep up, if you do that you will find a way to make a very comfortable living for yourself and your family that will  help to support you during old age.

Should Privacy Be a Right?

A bit of a departure for me, but something that is very close to my heart, Privacy I don’t mean people not knowing what I look like on here or the fact that I choose to put pictures and my opinions on the internet for all to see, I mean the data that I do not choose to share, the buried tracking cookies, the carefully worded “terms and conditions” that essentially boil down to you agreeing to being tracked and profiled in order to use a service, and when that service is Google or Facebook, it is difficult to make the decision to not agree and to walk away from the service because they have become so ingrained in our society, life can genuinely be difficult without them.

I want to deal immediately with the first argument that people come up with when faced with this point “if you have nothing to hide what is the problem?” the problem is that I do not want to share ever aspect of my life and if you think about it I bet neither do you, secondly I want to choose what I allow people to know about me and my family, and third I want to know what information is being gathered about me and how much care the organisations that have that data are taking over it.

I work in network security and as such have always been one of the “tin foil hat brigade” because when you understand the nature of a thing you see just how powerful it actually is, that said the event that triggered my latest rant had me baffled as to the mechanism in the background that allowed the transfer of data, and it concerns the setting up of an account with the same avatar that I have on here, I like a lot of people run Plex media server at home, it is run on a local server not in the cloud and has three accounts on it, I will not name the site that this happened on and have only named Plex as it is important to understand that this was a local server, I created an account on the other site and added the avatar, the next time I went to log into Plex it had updated my profile picture (previously blank) to the new avatar, there is no discernible connection between the two and to this day the way it pulled that information is a mystery.

The Giants of the tech world log and track our lives By Default removing our ability to be in control of our own information, they use this information to shape the world we see and as we become more and more dependant on social media and devices to run our everyday lives algorithms are working in the background make sure we never see something that doesn’t interest us, but think about that for a minute, if we never see anything that they think would not interest us and the knowledge they have is only built from things that we have searched for or looked at previously then where is the diversity? where is the random nature that makes humans so interesting, all our visual cues while online will be similar and our browsing experience will be shaped to appeal to what the system thinks we want.

Computers like uniformity, they thrive in a binary predictable environment where an action equals a programmatic and logical response, and of course it is a marketers dream, consistent advertisements, news stories suggested feeds and search results that all point to a single direction will ultimately push an individual into a course of action even if the only reason is frustration at the seeming lack of options.

The boom in devices for children that require an account to tailor the results and media to the younger audience simply means that this cataloguing of the human race begins earlier, and our children provide information without a care in the world, a slightly more sinister way of looking at is with the ability to shape the content that they consume it is not a major stretch before you arrive at the ability to condition and influence an individual or in the case of YouTube and Facebook, a generation effectively allowing tech companies to provide the generation of the future, and the Best case scenario for this is that they shape consumerism, the worst case doesn’t even bear thinking about.

So the question really isn’t about privacy being a right, or about the ISP knowing what websites we are going to, it is far deeper and more fundamental than that, it is about the right to live your life as you see fit, to have the ability and the information at your hands that makes you equal to your fellow man both in freedom and opportunity, it is allowing your children to grow and choose their paths through their own experience and curiosity not through a pre-programmed journey based upon an unseen authorities view on what they should become.

I guess that for the most part this post is really “my two cents” but I urge anybody that has even a passing thought that I may have a point, to just look at the videos and content that is popular among your children, or take more notice at the lack of deviation in advertising on social media that you see as well as the difficulty in trying to search for a topic outside of your normal interest on Google, look past the inconvenience and think about the long term consequence.
