Of course you can’t learn anything totally in 45 minutes, that would be crazy talk, I have seen courses claiming this and more however!, but what you can do is train yourself to learn anything and the way to start is in 45 minute sessions.
Is This A Course ?
Hell no, the only thing I will ever sell on here is advertising, and between you and me that is not even worth it, the point to this is that I have found a way that I have successfully used to pass three industry exams in four months from scratch, without cheating and without sacrificing any more time than I had to.
Start with learning how to Learn.
In healthy adults the average attention span for an untrained mind is 45 minutes, this is the window during which you can focus on the subject in hand, after which your mind will start to wander of it’s own accord, there is very little you can do about it, apart of course from training through practice to focus for longer.
What does Focus actually look like ?
The first thing to do is to define what focus looks like, it is not reading a document with one eye on the TV or whilst upgrading a system, or picking what you are going to have for dinner, focus, my friends is stopping all that you are doing and concentrating on one task, stream of information or text to the exclusion of all else for the period of consumption.
The human brain is a sponge, able to soak up as much information as we can find the time to put into it, when we see people that are able to perform great feats of intellect all we are seeing are people that have opened their minds to the reality that they can learn anything at will and retain like a steel database for future reference.
This Article Will Set You Free
If you let it, the words and sentiments, and in fact even more than that the intent behind this article will set you free, you do not need to buy anything from me, or subscribe to some paid for feed, simply try the following suggestions and see how quickly you can learn something, the world is full of knowledge and knowledge truly is power.
Phases of Enlightenment.
Clear your mind of distraction, this may mean for those among us that have children that this is done when they are asleep at night, do not shut your children out, the glory of achievement will pale in the pain of a strained relationship with a child that feels abandoned, any tasks that you cannot get done before sitting down to start focusing can wait 45 minutes, it really isn’t that long, the world will not end, but get this right and it may just become a nicer place for you and yours.
DO NOT USE A MOBILE PHONE TO TIME THE SESSION, you will be tempted to check how much time you have and if you light up that little devil in disguise you will end up looking at pictures of cats!
I use an hourglass sandtimer, they are cheap and available in 45 minute configurations as well as others for when you extend your focus time.
See it through to the end, seriously, don’t be tempted to stop at anytime and do something else, don’t get a coffee, tea or a reefer the size of a tree stump, just sit it out and finish at the 45 minute finish line.
when you have finished do something else immediately, something completely different from what you were doing, do not be tempted to keep on, your brain will have stopped learning without you knowing, only when you are completely comfortable that the information is all going in should you start to extend the time of your focusing.
Why Do This ?
If you can learn to do something to a competency that allows you to fulfil the function of a third party then the cost of that third party is no longer an expense, if you can learn anything in 45 minute bursts then you can effectively learn the vast majority of things within a week, this means that if you have supporting technologies for your business or need to understand the flow of money and investing more, give yourself a year and you will master it.
The internet has it’s faults, it is full of porn, hatred, mis-information and generally bad people trying to take your money and that of the uninformed, but among this is the largest repository of information the world and the human race has ever had access to, if you choose to do it, the line between the fantasy of Neo sat in the chair on the Matrix learning things at the speed of light and you trying to grasp a concept to further your business, career or finances blurs to almost insignificance.
Knowledge truly is power, it is the key to freedom and it is the only way you will beat the people that are trying to climb to the top on your shoulders, if you can learn to learn anything in 45 minutes, you are only ever a week or so away from being better than whatever rival is in your way.
This is what we are all looking for, a future filled with beautiful landscapes and no worries, but we will not get there without thinking for ourselves.
In recent weeks this blog has grown to over 300 subscribers, and for context that has taken me over two years to get there, additionally it has been in previous weeks that I have had so much to do that I have not posted a single thing, however when I was following all the recommendations about how often to post and what to write, I struggled to get over 150 subscribers, but I was tired, and over worked trying to complete my day job as well as the blog on a regular basis, I forgot why I started ironically by pursuing the goal with more and more dedication.
OK so I have noticed as well that a lot of people that have started subscribing are online marketers or people involved in affiliate marketing and such, while this is not a bad thing I challenge you to think of this, if you are following another GURU’s advice and working on it every night religiously to the cost of your freedom haven’t you just actually given yourself another drain on your time and another way to spend money?
And we all fall into the trap of thinking if we just spend a little we can get that extra hit that will create a sale and the viral sales avalanche that will make us rich, problem is for most of us that will never happen, and by most I mean literally 99.99%
I want to propose another way.
First Time Bullshit
Anybody Recognise this ?
The other day I was looking through Linkedin and I noticed a post from the owner / starter of the above brand, talking about how he built the company from nothing and how he stayed up all night packing parcels and printing t-shirts, if we ignore the fact that basically the brand is simply just that, a marketing exercise, the fact is that he was the first person to try social media marketing, that is a fact, they sent some of their clothing to people that had established youtube channels and they basically sold the product for them.
This can never happen again, I am not bitter or stressed by it, I just want people to stop chasing the advice of people that got there first, if you do not believe me then just look how many clothing brands are out there trying to be Gymshark, you don’t see their CEO’s on Linkedin talking about how much money they have because they don’t have any.
So to listen to how this guy did it should be a lesson in how to spot a gap in the market, or get lucky, or simply just for the entertainment value of listening to somebody who has what you want flaunting it in your face and charging you for the privilege of sitting there being told they have more money than you.
All the time you spend listening to the Bullshit is more time that you could be building your business.
Two Ways to Freedom
So there are only two ways, unless you have made it and are just here for a laugh, the first is of course to come up with an original idea, by original idea I do not mean just a new product or a new way of selling, this can mean (and often does) just a new way of approaching advertising.
Like the Amazon’s and Gymshark’s of this of this world you can find a way to do something that people have never seen before and then work at it till you are blue in the face, you see I don’t say that the people behind those brands (and many others like them) didn’t work hard, they did and they also worked against great adversity, being the new person on the block is always harder because people seem to actively want you to fail, you only have to look back at when Jeff Bezos started Amazon to see the ridicule that he got in the press and on the internet that in a twist of irony he now just about owns.
if you manage to find something like this then for gods sake keep plugging away at it because it will succeed (with a few caveats obviously)
The second way is the way that most of us will need to achieve in order to succeed, that is to take something that somebody is already doing and throw enough money at it so you can ram it down peoples throats 24/7 until they start buying, best example is Bang energy drinks, that guy just kept appearing like a bad smell and threw millions at advertising in an already saturated market, he succeeded where others had failed because he had money to throw at it.
However for most people who are on the internet trying to make money that is simply not an option, drowning slowly in debt, barely keeping up payments, we have become exactly what the establishment wants us to be, drones.
F**K You I Won’t Do What You Tell Me!
Now I am not some crackpot radical that believes that we don’t need money to be happy, and that the path to true happiness is to shed the bonds of commercialised consumerism, hell no! I am as materialistic as the next person, but I believe in wealth not credit lifestyles with glass floors just waiting to crack.
What the Establishment Want
I have said this many times before and I will say it again, the establishment, governments, law enforcement, societies, the rich and the famous, need to keep people like us moving through the meat grinder process.
The steps that keep the rich rich and the poor short lived are obvious if you look long enough at the people around you.
BORN – Be born and start on your way down the path of servitude, enjoy this time because it is the only time you are truly free as an individual.
GO TO SCHOOL – Education is essential, you need to learn to read and to write, without this you are at a constant disadvantage, however the education system is designed condition you from the outset and teach you what you need to be a good productive cog, here you learn enough to know what you want and that you will need to finance it to get it.
GET A JOB – Ever stop to think when you clock on in the morning why you are picking up the shit and the guy that owns the company is on a beach somewhere not giving a damn if you live or die, even leaders like Richard Branson showed is true colours during the pandemic when he made the decision from his private island to lay off loads of employees due to budget issues, this job is your prison it is your ball and chain that you begin your productive life with.
GET A MORTGAGE – Mortgage (Death Contract) a house built with financed money that does not exist is given to you for a payment each month until you die or pay it off, there is no value to the house, there is no value to the contract but you will give earned money to the bank making your liability their asset.
PROGRESS – Just through the job market though until you can pay as much tax as you can earn while huge corporations delay tax payments for years and then pay only what they see fit.
TAKE OUT LIFE INSURANCE – Pay the same institutions that you are paying for your house to insure you against the ultimate end, providing more money for them to lend to others and make more interest on, and when you die they simple wipe the debt based on the insured amount, pursue your family for the rest and then somebody else comes along and “buys” the house from them as they are the ones that can provide the Mortgage.
DIE – And don’t forget to pay for your funeral upfront because if you don’t and your family don’t have the money it is a bin bag for you!
Screw the System
Screw Robert Kyosaki, his first successful business endeavour was the book he wrote on becoming rich, the man is a puppet of the banking system, in fact I will go further it is people like him that rely on us mere workers to live their lavish lifestyles, in previous posts I have fallen into the trap of thinking that may be the way, if you look back you will find them as I do not delete anything, this blog is about a learning path, not me trying to claim I have the answers, before you start and indeed where I have started and am continuing to progress through is clear your debt.
If you owe money on something then it is not yours, you only have to stop paying for a month or two and see, so here is the first really harsh lesson, however you choose to do it, through working extra jobs or doing some low paying online stuff, take that money and pay off your debts, own your life, take it back from the establishment and start to live.
Once your life is yours you will have started the journey, don’t invest money when you have debt as you will never get a return that is higher than the debt you are paying out, in the worst of scenarios, you could actually be making yourself more poor by having investments.
This weeks Takeaway
I encourage anybody who has taken the jump to buy their life and the lives of their children and partners back from the establishment meat grinder, however you are doing that, but please think carefully about the way you are doing it, anytime you owe money you are owned, stop being owned, stand up and be your own person, you only need to make it through the first year or son before you amass enough money to be able to purchase the people that are required to really make money, once you make that money you get the power to stand at the devils right hand as opposed to being in his path.
Spend this year or more if needed buying your freedom, then once you have done that spend another year making that freedom exactly what you want it to be, and don’t fall for the meat grinder.
What is your life worth ? have you ever stopped to think ? how much time are you wasting and what will it cost you in the long run ? how much time are you using to forward your goals and dreams and what do you see as reasons that you haven’t got there yet ?
All valid questions but how honest are you going to be with the answers ?
Most peoples primary goal is money, it was certainly mine and I wish I could tell you that it is not but the reality still is that the amount of power you have directly relates to the quality of life that you have and the easiest way to get power is through money, this being said how much money do you actually need ? and what are the goals with that money ?
For instance take Bill Gates, a multi Billionaire, money does not have the same meaning in his world as it does ours, when he makes another million tomorrow he will likely not even realise it, let alone react, for you and me of course this is not the case, unless you have already made it then a million tomorrow would illicit a much different response.
I started several businesses with the goal of becoming wealthy, egged on by the videos on YouTube, the Guru’s and the sheer fact that there is so much money to be made on the internet that surely some of it could be mine, the whole reason for this blog was to make money, but as I went further into the void that is internet marketing this blog took on a different purpose.
The Desperation Trade
For the majority of us on the internet looking to start a business we need to change the financial climate that we have usually mounting debt or the realisation that we have no money for our future stirs us into action and we start casually surfing for online businesses and see the purported wealth of others through Social Media and through advertising campaigns.
But we are desperate to change our situations and that of our families so that makes us a target for con men (and women) and there are plenty out there taking up aim.
Important First Questions
Ask your self this, when was the last time you saw a millionaire or billionaire on YouTube or on Instagram selling you a course on how to become a millionaire ? say Bill Gates get Rich Quick Scheme, or Richard Branson explains Amazon Marketing for a six figure income ? never and I tell you right now you never will.
So when you look at these schemes just think for a minute how do I know they are really a millionaire ? how do I know that they made their money before they made this course to sell to me?
If you can’t qualify these two questions then walk away because if you can’t see that these two questions have valid answers that make sense then the person you are seeing is a fraud.
All Guru’s are Frauds ?
Well in a word yes, if anybody wants to claim they are a Guru and they can make you millions then I would be suspicious, human nature just doesn’t work that way, and when it does it is a very rare thing, look at the people with enough money to fix the vast majority of problems around the world, do they do it ? no, there are Billionaires that have amassed enough private funds to fix poverty and still be multi millionaires but they don’t because it is their money, and why should they give their money away.
Some DO have a lot of money though ?
Yes they do and to be honest anybody at the start of something they make work will make money, and probably a lot of it, but if what they started was a course on how to make money then it is still useless to you, there is only a few things to remember when trying to make money and buy back the time in your life from the establishment.
1. You can Make Money
Yes you can, if you are able to use a computer and you have an idea that you see through then you can make money, how much depends on way to many factors to list in this article but we will discuss this later.
2. Do One Thing and be the BEST at it
If you are the best at anything then you will make exponentially more than the others in the same field, cake makers for instance, most are just small bakeries that turn a profit but never really make enough to have the owner quit work, and then there are some who truly go the extra mile and are the best who make it onto telly and have the rich and famous queuing up for their cakes, how many things you are good at however is down to your capacity, but if you make sure that you never do anything in a mediocre fashion you will do fine.
3. The Internet is a medium not another World
Often forgotten this one, the Internet is so all encompassing that we tend to think that the laws governing our physical world do not apply when we are on the internet, this is not true, the internet is STILL the medium it has not become the platform and it never can be, what I mean by this is the advertising and the sales are all virtual sure, but the humans that interact with the stores and the adverts are still human and respond to the same human wants and desires.
Your First Steps to Wealth
To get back to the title of this article I would like to draw your attention to the cost of your time, conventional lifestyles are, born, educated to serve, serve, retire, die.
Your first step is to see that you are worth so much more than that, the only thing in life we cannot get back that we spend without thinking is time, the time to write this for instance has to be balanced with a reward or it is not worth it, the time you took to read it has to mean you gained something from it or it was not worth it.
So before checking into the next “exclusive webinar” (yeah right) ask your self, would I be better off watching this or instead looking at my finances and working out how I can save money and put it toward buying my life from the world.
If the answer is yes look at your finances then great I will see you next week, if however you sit down with a cup of coffee at the webinar and start taking notes I wish you good luck, cos you will need it.
Firstly let me begin buy a couple of admissions, the first one being that I have been away for quite some time, this is because like many other people I have had to stop and and try and work out what I’m actually going to do to make money.
The problem with life is this, whilst money shouldn’t be everything to you it is of course the main driving factor for the majority of us because it directly relates to your quality of life.
Before we go any further, one thing I have learnt and one thing you are going to have to learn is that there is absolutely nothing new to be done, well that’s not strictly true, but the chances of anybody coming up with something revolutionary and new that’s going to take the world by storm is actually pretty slim, in fact is really megaslim, majority of businesses these days are just simply people advertising the same product and the same services just in a different way to attract different people.
So that is what brought me to my first point which is this post, I’m going to attempt to add my “ my value” to society and to the community of people who are also looking to make money by documenting, to a certain extent how I put together the supplement company and how I ultimately try and make money from it.
This isn’t someone who has made millions and is now trying to sell you the way they did it, this is literally somebody who is trying to make millions documenting what I think are the important parts, the ways to avoid the pitfalls and how you ultimately make money.
The reason I decided to do it this way and simply because when I do become or if I become wealthy the last thing I want to be doing is YouTube videos rubbing everybody’s face in it turning around and saying, “oh look at me I’ve got so much money this is how I make money” because frankly I find most of them cringeworthy, I mean let’s be honest you’ve got some millionaire shouting at you about how you’re not doing enough you need to believe in yourself more you need to stay up all night and sleep all day and if you’re not? well how can you expect to make money,
How Many of Them Did ?
I would genuinely like to go back some of these people and how they began and see really did they stay up all night I mean the only one I actually believe if I’m being honest is Elon Musk because frankly that guide you just crazy enough to have stopped up all night working on his website and then slept all day.
My first little Pearl of wisdom is, we haven’t all got time to sit down and type out line after line after line of text in order to keep a Blog in fact actually that’s why I haven’t been posting anything recently because I’ve also been concentrating other things, however, Google Docs speech to text, if you can get past it’s obvious shortcomings and realise that you have to do a little bit of editing as well, is a godsend frankly, give it a try set yourself up you can literally write out blog posts in as much time as it takes for you to speak them, it’s easier because unless you are gifted at typing speech flows a lot easier than typing, and this is especially true in my case!
The only thing I would say is like everything else in life it seems to have an issue with my accent I don’t know why this is, everybody seems to struggle with with my accent and seems to miss what I’m trying to say but in the interest of full disclosure this entire blog post was actually done within 10 minutes, it was done through Google Docs speech to text and it was edited (hopefully not too badly) after, so that is my one tip of the day really if I’m being perfectly honest it’s not much of a tip, frankly you could Google it and find it out yourself.
I would imagine quite a lot of people are using speech to text because I think some of the the rate of content that comes out is shocking and I was wondering how people kept up, of course that is to say that some people will be using it and other people are just really talented at typing content and I’m not gonna take anything away from them I’m not gifted at typing, it has been argued in the past I’m not naturally gifted at speaking either so I’m going to leave this here, please leave a comment if you want to.
I’m going to go back over it now and try and edit it and make sure it makes sense and flows properly and I will be looking to do more of these as I continue building the supplement company which is GFPharma.co.uk should anybody want to check it out, I will just leave you with this one comment though.
My original thought was too to try and find something different, something that I could sell or something that I could do that was different to everybody else which meant I was going to become a millionaire overnight, I wasted 2 years looking for this and I mean that I literally wasted 2 years looking for it, my opinion ( and it is just my opinion ) is that’s the wrong thing to do,
if you are destined to create something new that’s going to revolutionize the world you won’t have to look for it, when you look back through history at the people that do this they’ve been doing it since they were they were children that it’s a natural thing,
Making money however, is not a natural gift it’s the application of advertising, that’s literally it, you could have the best product in the world literally the best product in the world and if you can’t sell it it’s not worth anything but people queue up they literally burn the servers down at Wish to buy stuff which is badly manufactured is not what it says in the picture it turns up three-and-a-half months later,
In a world where people are leaving the High Street in order to order from Amazon so they can get it within 24-hours people will sit and wait 3 1/2 weeks, months, years whatever it is for wish to deliver because they sell us the promise of money off the products we really want.
That’s my point, my point is create something good yes, concentrate on learning how to sell it because that’s where people either succeed or fail.
Good luck all and I’ll talk to you next time I’m hopeful it will be sooner rather than later.
Finally after we all got told not to go out and meet up with old friends and to strip the shelves bare like a plague of locusts the message appears to have hit home, finally there is stock back on shelves, not all stock is back admittedly but there is a good chance that when we go to the shops tomorrow there will be food and toilet roll, so what have we learned ? nothing, not a damn thing in my opinion as the time frame so far is to small to effect a change in human nature, you see the problem is that we still have companies doing everything they can to stay open, bending the rules and attempting to subvert the government at every turn, all in the name of profit, and this (to some) is reason enough to doubt the validity of this pandemic, there are demonstrably those among us that need to feel that if they are disobeying advice, coercion and ultimately instruction that somehow makes them free, even if that freedom endangers the lives of themselves and there loved ones and in this case can go onto to infect and destroy the lives of others not even known to them.
Unfettered, ungoverned freedom is a flawed concept, it simply cannot exist within a civilized society, the very fact that we are civil is based on rules and etiquette we do not simply voice an opinion or carry out a threat every time we feel like we could kill somebody for a wrong they have done us, and many of our freedoms are afforded to us due to these rules, the fear of recourse from breaking a rule provides the barrier to the vast majority of human impulse.
The past couple of weeks in the UK have been surreal, the lack of constructive advice from recognised authority figures and the mass dissemination of opinion presented as fact on social media caused panic and mayhem in the lives of ordinary people, it stripped us of our freedom the freedom that can only exist with rules and guidelines, the freedom to eat when we want and to drink when we want, to feel the comfort and assurance that living in a rich western country provides through abundance of resource, there was no supply chain issues other than the ones caused by the panic buying, this situation will pass and hopefully it will take some of the values of the human race with it.
When the dust settles on this and we look back, I would hope that we will see money and the acquisition of money for what it really is, nothing, money and wealth are nothing unless they are applied to a situation, my point is that if you never go anywhere and never do anything but you have a million pounds in the bank then you may as well not have it, if you don’t believe me take out a note right now, it is a piece of paper, nothing more and nothing less, but imagine that there are no more people, what then ? what if there were no more food to fill the stripped shelves ? what is you had all the money in the world but your family were sick, if there is no cure then believe me one cannot be bought, I am hoping this makes us not stop the pursuit of money, but rather make us pursue the things that money provides, freedom of movement, cultural and academic education for our children through travel, time to relax and enjoy what is truly a beautiful planet, sure pursue money start your business, buy your stocks and shares but when the money starts coming in apply it to life and enjoy the freedom of controlled and grown finance.
You have a choice
Just because certain shops are open and trying to entice people to gather make a choice for you and your family as well as the rest of the human community that you are likely to be in contact with, you do not owe these retail giants anything, and they will not turn you away when this is over, in fact a drop in profits may very well make them realise the value of their customers and maybe they will change how they operate in the future, becoming fairer and more focused on the person rather than the value of a persons spending power, above all you must preserve your life, and that does mean staying as far away from this silent killer as much as possible, sure humans have always gone out to hunt and provide food since time began but the sports equipment or a pair of jeans will not feed anybody, leave them today and ensure you are alive and well to buy them tomorrow.
This is going to sound like a whinge of a post but I assure you it is not, it is, rather, a warning to anybody starting or attempting to start a blog as a way of making money spurred on by the many articles on the internet (usually other blogs like this one) claiming that it is a good way to turn spare time into a passive income, as I move further forward in this journey to what I am still convinced is achievable, the realities of this are becoming more and more obvious, and it isn’t rosy I can tell you.
I started this blog and all my activities at the start of this year, I have had many distractions and issues along the way but essentially the outcome is completely my own doing, I was too cheap with both time and money and spent too much time trying to find a way to post more and more content cheaply believing that quantity would alone see me through to a success, when in fact the opposite is true, we have all seen the constant posters re-cycling the same blog posts a few days or at most a week apart hoping that nobody would notice or that at least the views would attract more readers and hits and ad revenue, I wonder sometimes how successful they really are, now I can almost hear the cries of “but I do not do this for the money simply for the art” or the expression or to educate, in fact any lofty ethical reason they can hide behind shielding themselves from the fact that it really hasn’t made any money or even shows a glimmer of hope of doing so, preferring instead to keep hoping for that one article that goes viral or that captures enough people that they will do the advertising for them by sharing the post and exponentially increasing the reader numbers.
Anybody that wants to make money will add advertising to their site in one form or another, either through the annoying ads in the sidebar that you seed displayed all over this site (lol) or through their own affiliate links or simply through the promise of exclusive content for the exchange of a mailing with a Paypal donation link, it is all advertising as it is designed to illicit money from the reader, when people actually want to convey a message or provide a service (in whatever form that takes) to the general public completely free of charge and simply to educate and help they do not advertise as there is no need to add a distraction, they do not include garish advertisements for the reader to click on as this would detract from the message they are trying to impart.
But putting the advertising on the site is far from enough, in fact it is not even enough to be counted as the beginning, the beginning is the idea it is the focus of the blog, people will spend money this is not a surprising fact and with the reach of the internet there are a lot of people that can spend a lot of money with you and make you very rich but they aren’t going to give it away, you and your corner of the internet are not a charity (unless you are of course) and you cannot expect money for nothing.
I am so fond of the phrase “Real Money” that sometimes it even gets under my skin, I say it nearly everyday in nearly every conversation that I have about money and for the sake of repetition I will say it again here, there is money and there is MONEY and to be honest very rarely shall the twain ever meet, what I mean is that when we say somebody has money we are invariably saying this in response to the visible assets that a person has, their car, house, clothes and to a greater or lesser extent their leisure activities, we evaluate based on a surface reflection of a snapshot of their life, and when they have a nice car and a big house and we wave them off on the next international adventure or follow their Instagram posts with green eyed envy we see what we want to see, success and money, but it is at night when these people are alone that the real story is told, you see money has a way of taking control of thoughts and feelings, it squeezes out loved ones and relationships and ultimately it chokes the life out of us and we find ourselves drowning in a sea of debt that there is no escape from, at night when the car is parked outside the house or the holiday activities are over and the rest of the family are asleep is where the dread of the next credit card bill comes in, the feeling of that slow march toward retirement with no savings starts to suggest that it is time you stopped spending all this money on interest payments to credit providers and started trying to master money, after all people do it and you are no different right? having money actual money under control and working for you as opposed to the other way round is all of the above without the feeling of dread and fear creeping in at night, it is the handing over of the debit card instead of the credit card for holidays and luxury goods, it is the sitting down and studying your money at the end of the month with a smile and a coffee just to see how things are going and how much you can invest this month rather than sitting down with a Gin and a Valium and hoping there is enough to stop you having to borrow more just to prop up the nice car and house, it is the enjoyed kiss from a partner at night and whatever may follow as opposed to the awkward good night and rolling over with both of you wondering what you have done to upset the other, it is the tolerance with children as they learn and grow breaking things and making mistakes along the way, as opposed to freaking out and going way over the top at every pen mark we find on the couch that costs us £150 a month is finance payments, money has the ability to help us grow and provide a life for future generations long after we have gone or it has the power to pull a family apart and destroy the future for generations, remember ultimately we become the product of our parents, If you think about a lot of your habits and personality traits now you will realise that most if not all stem from learned behaviour in our childhoods.
Other Peoples Blogs
Firstly a word about mine, I have been doing it for around a year now and am coming up to nearly my 100th post, the maths itself does not add up to a whole load of commitment does it ? so far it is earned me the princely sum of $0.38c, I am not going to retire on this and I do not expect it to grow much more without some kind of catalysing event, but I do have faith, I have faith in numbers and the numbers on the internet are huge, it is true that with the internet age ANYBODY can make a million, but it is also true that very few ever will.
So I did a simple Google search for successful WordPress blogs, and found a fantastic site here that has an almost unique field within their table of success EXPENSES seriously take a look, the information on here is worthy of just being posted out as a link rather than just as a part of this longer article which I am not sure anybody will have made it down to this point anyhow, and this is literally the reason why my blog sucks ass and (although I cannot speak for anybody else) the reason why a lot of people struggle month after month make no money and give up, the sites listed here make enough money for the people to do it as a job, sit at home or wherever they choose, write and then let the Internet take the strain, and the magic ingredient is EXPENSES, they are all spending money to make money, an example is Pat Flynn, 8 years he has been at it and his reported income for December 2017 ? $167,553.31, his expenses for this month $39.647.21 and his profit (before the dreaded Taxman obviously) an amazing $127.906.10 and when you see the website it is obvious why, the attention to presentation, the fact that his courses are available in both video and written on the blog, this probably means that he has a reasonable income from YouTube as well, They are all on there, Cookery Blogs, Entrepreneur blogs and of course Affiliate Marketing Blogs, and here I am with my 38c, I do not even have a business plan subscription and due to lack of activity my Amazon Affiliates account is suspended, this is because I failed to invest in my own project and my own future.
How to Invest ?
Investing comes on many forms, and most of these we are unwilling to do, we have to spend time researching content, or trying new things out so we can report our findings in a manner that provides value to others, as something of no value has no value and how can you expect to get paid for something that has no value?
You need to invest money, the plan I have does not allow plugins, so I cannot carry out any SEO for my site, none, I write articles like this and hope that people will stumble across them through reader or something like that, and they do, I have an amazing (for my investment level) 162 followers , but with the correct SEO and the ability to get hits from Google organically there would a thousand times that if not more just based on the sheer numbers of people searching for the subject matter I write about.
And you need to invest commitment, if work obligations dictate that you can only do one or two posts or articles a week then commit to that and make those two articles the best researched that you can, go into the ins and outs and the ups and downs and provide a real body if information or guidance to your audience that they can connect with and more importantly that they will want to bookmark and come back to, or even better subscribe.
And finally invest YOU, don’t write about something just because you think it is going to be popular or because it seems lucrative for the moment, writing is about more, it is more personal, and if the words come from a genuine passion or a genuine desire to help others and impart information people will listen.
I have ranted on at length about a lot of failings within blogging and trying to make a passive income on the internet through blogging, the fact is there is no such thing as a passive income through blogging unless you get somebody else to do it for you, but the is a massive difference between having to start writing at 5am before you go to work and being able to sit down at home after dropping the kids off at school and writing what you want in an unhurried manner, or if you don’t have kids fitting your writing in around going to the gym or whatever it is that you can now afford to do, Blogs are still way of making a very good income, you just have to rpovide something worth buying, and never fall into the trap of thinking that “If you build it they will come” cos they may turn up but if they leave without buying into your message you will be just as skint as you were yesterday and a lot more tired.
Procrastination is the single biggest hurdle most of us face, in this quick post I found an interesting article on how to avoid it, essentially my plan is for the foreseeable future to make sure that where practical I put action into thoughts, instead of trying to find ways to put thoughts into action.
There are hundreds of courses out there to help you become an Amazon seller and on the whole they cost thousands to access, I know that you only get out of life what you put in but that does not mean we need to over extend ourselves or use money unnecessarily to learn something that can be picked up for free, sure if you were to be paying a couple of hundred pounds for a course then it would probably save you that much in errors further down the line, but when we start talking four and five thousand dollars then I really do think you would have to really screw up on a monumental scale to even up the balance.
I am not saying that these courses are all worthless, I am just pointing out that they are expensive and the majority of us have been driven to look for a side hustle or a change in income streams through lack of available funds, not through and abundance of money and boredom.
So I started looking around to see if there were any free reliable alternatives to some of the expensive courses, and I found this site https://tinuiti.com/blog/amazon/sell-on-amazon-uk/ the guide seems really thorough and one of the first things that I noticed was that I actually had no idea of the prerequisites of opening a seller account on Amazon, I also found another site as an alternative to Junglescout this is https://sellics.com they not only have a 14 day trial offer but they have some free resources including keyword search for your chosen products.
Another challenge I have is the US centric nature of this business, so I will be spending some time researching how much of an impact this will actually have on me as a UK resident and if there are any workarounds to those issues.
Turns out there are, in future posts I will going through setting up my seller account from a UK perspective and hopefully making a profit.
Controversial I know but hear me out, changing yourself is not always a bad thing if who you have become is what is holding you back, and for the majority of us that is the case, working jobs we hate on a corporate hamster wheel or even worse dead end jobs that are only “filling in time until we decide what to do” the world has educated the masses to believe that we are meant to work we shouldn’t aim high and routinely we, as a group ridicule the ones who dare to dream.
Don’t Change for Others!
Well no, you shouldn’t change for the sake of others, if you are being yourself and people have an issue with that then that is their issue not yours, on a personal level you should never alter your standards or shelve your hopes and dreams for the sake of a relationship, relationships are supposed to be reciprocal and therefore tolerance and in most cases a certain prioritisation of the partners wants and needs should come first and the other way round too, this way both parties are happy and equally valued, and if you had one person in your corner all all the time helping you to achieve your goals imagine how far you would get, this is not the place to change, love and loyalty under a false banner of intention and desire will always end in tears, Always.
Change Everything Else, However
I posted previously a news article that frankly scared the hell out of me, I do not want to work until I die, penniless and without the ability to enjoy my winter years or to help me children achieve their potential in a world that is getting smaller and more cramped, but to make this happen life has to be treated like a business, with the advent of gamer “professionals” and vlog millionaires the bar and the goal has shifted, you are now the business, and unless you treat everyday as a means to an end you will go out of business and be closed down sooner than you think.
The concept of going to work 9 to 5 and making a decent living, retiring at 65 and living a comfortable life at the seaside with a golden retriever and enjoying long walks on the beach with the Mrs in the sunset happy just to have an ice cream isn’t dying it’s dead, it no longer happens, chances are that if that was how you lived your life then the Mrs left ages ago for a younger bloke who sells rubber dog poo with a nice cheery face on it through his etsy store, and vice versa, this may sound very male biased but to be fair women have been just as capable of making huge sums of money as men, are just as capable of putting in the hours as men and the only thing that historically stopped them from achieving the same positions was having to wade through an archaic “old boys club” culture in business and life in general, this is now largely giving way and quite rightly, so the above scenario cuts both ways.
The process begins by having a look at yourself and having the guts to ask “what am I doing wrong?” and with the opportunities on the internet and global reach the way it is today, if you are worried about money in any shape or form then you (like me and millions of others) are doing something wrong, good news is these things are not too hard to spot I have listed below the one’s I found.
Sleep late / wake up late – sounds obvious right? then why do we all do it? realise that if we sacrifice the binge watching of breaking bad now we can watch it in a penthouse overlooking the beach in the future, but for now Sleep because nobody functions properly when tired and irritable.
Don’t exercise – Easy to say, that you want to be a business person or you are too busy to exercise, cardio at the very least is a must, remember you as an organism run on oxygen, cardio will improve your cardio vascular system, so in a basic sense the fitter you are, the faster you are and it takes less time to complete tasks, that way you have more time to do more things.
Take chances – The easy path is the path of least resistance, yet we marvel at people who are flexible and have trained themselves to be able to practise yoga or gymnastics or even bodybuilders. stop to think when looking up to these people is that what you are admiring is somebody literally chose the path of most resistance, if you are pushing so much there is a little pain then you are doing good.
Listen – Real simple, if you knew everything then you would be rich already, listen to as many people as possible, most of what is said will be useless, but there is gold in them thar hills!
Keep Goals in mind – Stop being distracted by everything around you, TURN OFF SOCIAL MEDIA NOTIFICATIONS
If you are looking for something to do while staring at your phone, rather than the latest cat video, or yet another guru shouting at you that their way is best and you should give them thousands to see how, train your mind to be quicker and more agile, try Elevate in the links below (not affiliate links) I will even start a little traineesuperhuman group so we can play against each other.
Now is not the time to start, now is the time to DO the clock has been ticking for some time already and we are literally fighting for our futures, so whatever it is you do, do it better, excel at your chosen field and always run a side hustle, no income is guaranteed that is true, but income that relies on the decisions out of your control needs a backup, because you never know when it is going to fail.
There are a lot of mixed messages out on the internet and indeed in the traditional media, we are encouraged by some financial Guru’s to take our time, try not to get rich quick because it is a fallacy, while others bellow from neon lit stages that speed and persistence is the key, move fast and make mistakes and ultimately you can come up with an idea that tomorrow will make you a millionaire.
I have spent a lot of time considering both and I can honestly say that neither extreme is true, the idea of waiting for the moment when you no longer have to worry about money for what could possibly be years is not a pleasant one, and constantly finding the holes in the “get rich quick” schemes also leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
Personally I have suffered at my own hand in the regard because I got caught up in the race to find the one thing that would make me rich tomorrow, the one thing that I am constantly being told is out there and if I just work hard enough I can get it, I started down a path and then abandoned it after the first hurdle, without really giving it the time to become anything, and only now can I say that I learned a lesson from an abandoned project that no Guru or marketing expert could ever have taught me.
I started this blog for two reasons, one, I wanted to help others like me who were looking to improve theirs and their families lives in every respect, people who had more than one thing to fix, and didn’t have the funds to chase down every dream offered for a price in a YouTube advert, and two, to build something that would bring in revenue, not through hard selling or fabrication but simply by using something or finding a resource that was valuable and then offering it for sale (usually through Amazon) for an affiliates commission, so a simple exchange of knowledge for the revenue that popularity can bring.
But it didn’t take off how I would like, I had seen (and indeed read) several articles and books on blogging and how if you get it right you can make it a good second income and if done professionally you can make it your primary income, and a good one at that, and I made 22 cents, not even enough to have WordPress send me a cheque, so I got disheartened, went back to dreading getting up on a morning and driving into work without the promise of a better life to come.
But I was still watching the videos as they were coming through on notification, and I was still looking for ways to make extra money.
Without any kind of interaction ( This is my first post in nearly a month ) this blog started to get more followers, people were still looking at it and they were liking my posts, until I could no longer ignore the obvious, I had started something, I had made the beginnings of a business that was capable of returning cash without any intervention at all, and the amount that it returned was directly proportional to the amount of effort I put in.
The point of this is that yes, you should be prepared to wait for the big payday, the popularity or the sales that you crave because things take time, they always have and despite the loud protestations of certain “influencers” they always will, but with the right content or products, and enough thought you can create a business that will eventually reward you with as much or as little effort as you choose to put in, and that business will stay on the internet forever more if you so choose, the pivotal moment is to realise that getting rich slow does not mean sitting back and taking it easy, it is more a state of mind that protects you from the disappointment of not becoming an overnight millionaire, it means making every minute that you are pursuing your side hustle and trying to build that financial freedom count, it means instead of a Netflix marathon when the kids go to bed, sit down and work, change things, run with every idea just in case, and don’t make the mistake I made, once you start something see it through, if it is just failing then cut it loose and go on with something else but you owe it to yourself and whoever else you had in mind when you started pursuing money to see it through until that decision becomes obvious.
I know it seems like stating the obvious but I got caught out by it and I didn’t want anybody else to because the time that I could have been posting or trying products, or looking for other ways to sell products and make the money that I set out to is gone now and I can’t get it back.
